PANDA & PING
Bright, bold and British pyjamas and bed linen for kids
Panda & Ping is a shiny new brand only just launched in October 2015. The creative mum behind the company, Pippa Millington, came up with the idea after finding herself increasingly frustrated about the lack of fun, stylish bed linen for children. And so, with a focus on quality, quirkiness and 100% Britishness, Pippa has created a range of pyjamas and bedding for children aged two to five that is vibrant, bold and fun. And let’s face it, if anything can help get the kids into bed, we’re all over it.
Right from the start Pippa wanted to focus on quality, making sure all range was ethically sourced using ecologically sound fabrics, all of which are designed, printed and made in Britain. From next year the collection will feature the Made in Britain marque (making Panda & Ping part of a network that supports and promotes British manufacturing). In addition, their super-soft 100% jersey cotton features no harmful dyes, which is essential when they’re going to be so close to sensitive skin.
The pyjama designs are cuffed at the wrist and ankle to stop them riding up as they move in the night and ensuring little ones stay warm even if the duvet gets kicked off. And their duvet sets are for a full size single bed, meaning they won’t grow out of them too quickly.
As much as we love to tick all the practical boxes, let’s not forget those cheerful, bright unisex prints. Their first collection focuses on several colourful characters to capture the imagination: Florence Flamingo and Tom Toucan, Gerry Giraffe and Elephants Edie and Elle. Whilst fun and childlike they’re not gaudy or cliched, and the simple white backgrounds and clever colour combinations keep them stylish.
And with two new loveable characters launching in Spring 2016, the Panda & Ping family is set to grow! Watch this space…
