Move over Peter Rabbit, there’s a new bunny in town
We fell in love with the distinctive monochrome masterpieces from design brand HAM when we first spotted them at Dot to Dot London, mentally planning on framing a collection of the fun, simplistic greetings cards for our kids’ rooms. Mentioning this to the designer, Joanna Ham, we spotted the twinkle in her eye and she promised us something exciting was actually on its way for the children’s market – and now here it is!
Progressing from the original range of ceramics, wall art and stationery, HAM’s newly launched series of wall stickers are perfect for kids’ rooms, with nine adorable metre-high designs featuring the adventurous Rabbit in various guises: Reflective Rabbit, Bouncing Rabbit, Swing Rabbit, Seesawing Rabbit and – Fussy Bird favourite – DJ Rabbit.
HAM (and the little rabbit) is British born and created. Launched by artist and illustrator Joanna in 2011, the eponymous range captures and celebrates the everyday, life’s simple pleasures and how we interact with one another. Just look at Rabbit’s ears as he bounces on the trampoline, or his little bunny paws as whizzes off a ski slope – there’s no doubt he’s having a great time (and we want to join him!).
The debut collection of ceramics and fabrics followed the adventures of Pig and Rabbit, and seeing how kids fell in love with her little characters, Joanna decided to scale up the rabbits from the greetings cards and screen prints to really bring them to life on nursery and bedroom walls. The striking screen-printed vinyl stickers are easy to apply and reposition, making them a brilliantly quick and stylish decorating solution. You can also link them together to create a HAM story of your own.
