MISAKI KAWAI FOR TIGER
Where Japanese and Scandi style come together
Now, we love a collaboration, and we can’t fault Tiger stores (much like megastar and mumboss Adele, who declared her love for the quirky Danish design store at a concert in Copenhagen recently). But when we heard Tiger was joining forces with Misaki Kawai, well, to be honest, we weren’t sure. Tiger is a definite go-to when it comes to party-bag and stocking fillers, gifts, treats and decorative goodies, and we never argue with their super-reasonable prices (even Fussy Birds love a bargain). But the Japanese artist Misaki Kawai seemed sort of… ‘out there’, and we weren’t convinced the kids would ‘get’ the quirky toys.
Until we got our hands on some. And now we happily stand corrected.
The colourful, playful designs had our kids hooked, and even though we admittedly sometimes failed to see what the art was supposed to depict (just call us philistines), LD’s two- and four-year-olds had no problem. They purloined the iPhone cover (a lion) to use as a pretend phone and enjoyed whizzing the wooden ‘boot’ cars around the kitchen floor. But their favourites were the cute little tins (minus the strong mints within), perfect for storing precious trinkets (like filthy stones, woodlouse, dirty pennies – you know the drill). Misaki clearly knows how to capture young imaginations.
Below is a small selection of the 28 products, which are now available in all Tiger stores just in time to keep them amused over half term. Enjoy.
Lucy D received some items for review, but all thoughts are her own.

Festive gift inspo for the little ladies
We love to review toys for Busy Bird - but sometimes the best review is just watching a child open the toy and play with it, that way you get their honest reaction. And this is just what happened when we were asked to be part of an 'unboxing' for goodtoknow.co.uk recently. Let's just say Wet Head is no fun when it's Mummy's head getting wet...
